“We call it fiction, but in my mind it’s never really fiction – it’s something honest. It is something borrowed from reality and twisted until it becomes its own exclusive energy. Everyone has their own lives, their own story, their own Skateland, and this happens to be ours.”

- From Director Anthony Burns’ Moving Pictures essay We Call it Fiction’

Skateland is a story that resonates – about making choices, finding your way in life, friends, family and change.

- From Writer/Executive Producer Brandon Freeman’s Hollywood the Write Way interview

Well, its been a long year since we returned from Shreveport uncut 35MM in our hands (well actually in a vault someplace safe) but the journey of Skateland which took us from Austin to Shreveport to Toronto to Napa Valley to Los Angeles and back to Austin again now promises to take us to new places and heights, ones that we could never imagine.

Hold on to your hats, for the indie film biz its wild west again, and anything can happen, keep your eyes open for more info about Freeman Film’s Skateland. There are some amazing films playing at this year’s Sundance, kudos to our fellow Austinites and Bryan Poyser’s Lovers of Hate,  John Cooper, Trevor Groth and the Sundance programming team for the amazing 2010  line up, and of course the cast, crew, Freeman Film, and Skateland’s uber-creative producing team, Brandon Freeman, Heath Freeman, and director Anthony Burns.
